Carlson Chiropractic Center Asking Facebook Fans To Help Designate Donation to Benefit Area Need During Holiday Season

With the devastation of the May 22 tornado dramatically increasing the numbers of those in need, and the Holidays fast approaching, the team at Carlson Chiropractic Center is taking a new approach to their annual Holiday giving. Turning to their Facebook fans, the Carlson Chiropractic team is asking who people are donating their time, treasure, and talent to, and who could use Carlson’s help. Kicking off Monday, November 21, Carlson Chiropractic is asking for feedback through December 12.

“This is a great way to build conversation and find out which of the many wonderful outreach organizations in Joplin could use an extra hand this year,” Heather Carlson, Director of Operations and Marketing said. “I really think this will not only benefit the organization that we help, but all of the organizations throughout Joplin.”

Carlson feels that many of the 1,200+ Carlson Chiropractic Centers Facebook fans will not only join in the conversation, but also gain new awareness about a church or organization that they could also help. “I really feel like if we work together, we can make a difference. We are a strong community and I know that together we can help our friends and neighbors, and most importantly, the children.”

The Facebook campaign simply asks fans to share the name of their favorite outreach organization, and the organization with the most “likes” or “votes” will receive a $100 check from Carlson Chiropractic Center, just in time for the Holidays. The campaign, as well as a Food Drive in November, and the Salvation Army Angel Tree in their lobby during the Holidays, are just a few of the ways Carlson Chiropractic Center can give back during the Holiday Season.

It is truly better to give than receive,” Dr. Steven M. Carlson added. “It is always very exciting to see so many of our patients willing to help us help others, and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do this year.”

Since 2003 the professionals at Carlson Chiropractic Center have worked w
ith a hands-on approach to health care, committed to bringing each of their patients better health and a better way of life by teaching and practicing the principles of chiropractic wellness care. Carlson Chiropractic Center Hosting Salvation Army Angel Tree to Benefit Area Children During Holiday Season

With the devastation of the May 22 tornado dramatically increasing the numbers of those in need, and the Holidays fast approaching, the team at Carlson Chiropractic Center is pleased to announce that they will be hosting a Salvation Army Angel Tree in their lobby from November 11 – December 9, at their office at 2318 East 32nd, Suite B.

The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program provides new clothing and/or toys to area children. A sponsoring company or organization, like Carlson Chiropractic Center, places a Christmas tree in a high traffic area, and the tree is decorated with Angel Tags with the first name, age, and gender of a child who will receive the gift. Contributors remove one or more tags from the tree and purchase appropriate gifts for the child described on the tags. The gifts are then delivered to the Salvation Army and later picked up by the parent to distribute to the child on Christmas Day.

This is our second year to host an Angel Tree, and we are excited to do our part to make sure that no child has to wake up to a Christmas morning without a gift,” Dr. Steven M. Carlson said. “It is truly better to give than receive, and last year we had a great response, over 25 Angels needs were meet in our office. It is very exciting to see so many of our patients willing to help others out, and I’m looking forward to participating in this event again this year.”

The Salvation Army will be delivering 16 Angel Trees throughout Joplin and Webb City this year, and according to Lt. Jamie Curry, the trees are placed in areas that will be visible to a cross section of the entire community. “Carlson Chiropractic is just fantastic, they are so helpful and eager to participate.”

“Our theme this year is ‘Your Donation Provides Hope’ and businesses like Carlson Chiropractic are helping us help others,” Lt. Curry said. “Without the many businesses and organizations in the area helping us, we couldn’t do it, there is no possible way we could gather all of these toys. Each participating business and organization is so vital to what we do.”

“Together we can make a difference in the needs that our community is facing this Holiday Season,” Dr. Carlson added. “We need to make sure that we do all that we can to help our community, our friends and neighbors, and most importantly, the children.”

Carlson Chiropractic Center Hosting Annual Food Drive to Benefit Area Need During Holiday Season

With the devastation of the May 22 tornado dramatically increasing the numbers of those in need, and the Holidays fast approaching, the team at Carlson Chiropractic Center is pleased to announce their upcoming annual Food Drive, scheduled to take place from November 1-11, at their office at 2318 East 32nd, Suite B.

According to
Map the Meal Gap: Child Food Insecurity 2011, 28.2 percent (71,780) of children in southwest Missouri face food insecurity. That’s five percent higher than the national rate, meaning more than one in four children don’t know where their next meal is coming from and may go to bed hungry. The study also reveals that of those children, 30 percent do not qualify for free or reduced school meals or WIC. Add that to the thousands left displaced and unemployed after the tornado, and it is apparent that the situation is critical.

“Right here in Joplin, many families are facing a Holiday Season with the question of how they are going to feed their families. We are dedicated to helping with that and that’s why we are asking you to join us and help feed Joplin,” Dr. Steven M. Carlson said. “It is truly better to give than receive and we need to do everything in our power to make sure that no child in Joplin has to go to bed hungry.”

From November 1 through November 11, new patients are invited to a FREE day of initial services at Carlson Chiropractic Center. For a donation of a minimum of 20 canned goods or other non-perishable items, participants can get a FREE consultation, examination, x-rays if needed, and a Report of Findings. An adjustment however, is not included and would need to be scheduled for a different appointment with standard fees applicable. To take part in Carlson Chiropractic Center’s special offer, a person only needs to call their office at 417.781.6300 to schedule an appointment for a FREE day of initial services.

In addition, existing Carlson Chiropractic Center patients are also invited to take part in the Food Drive, and for a donation of 10 canned goods or non-perishable items, they can receive a FREE extra adjustment on Saturday, November 5, from 8:30-11 am. All food items collected throughout the drive will be donated to the Salvation Army.

“Together we can make a difference in the needs that our community is facing this Holiday Season,” Dr. Carlson added. “We need to make sure that we do all that we can to help our community, our friends and neighbors, and most importantly, the children.”
