Joplin, Missouri – The team at Carlson Chiropractic Center is pleased to announce How to Live Young Your First 100 Years! A complimentary spinal care class that is offered not only to their existing clients, but also to the general public every Tuesday at 12:15 pm, and every Thursday at 6:15 pm, in their offices at 2318 E. 32nd Street, Suite B, Joplin.
“These classes are a great opportunity for us to educate people on the importance of taking care of their spine,” Director of Operations and Marketing Heather Carlson said. “We offer this class as a service to our patients, and the community, as a learning opportunity as well as a chance to ask the doctors specific questions.”
According to Dr. Eric J. Gormanson, How to Live Young Your First 100 Years! Focuses on prevention, prevention, prevention. “Typically, what we do and recommend for the spine is similar to what a dentist does for your teeth,” he said.
“We don’t go to the dentist to have them just drill and fill and look for cavities, we go and let them clean our teeth and do a cavity screen to prevent problems,” Dr. Gormanson added. “With spinal care, we can catch a problem with stiffness and lack of mobility, but really, preventative steps must be taken to care for the spine before functional disabilities start.”
As life expectancy increases, baby boomers especially are moving into a time where the odds of living past the age of 80 have greatly increased and with increased life span, there is increased risk for musculoskeletal and mobility problems. While active prevention is perfect to start while you are young, Dr. Gormanson says that it’s never too late to take care of your spine.
“Most people don’t realize they have a problem until the pain starts. Pain is always the last to show and the first to go, and by the time pain sets in, more than likely damage has already occurred,” Dr. Gormanson said. “We want our clients to enjoy life and not spend time suffering unnecessarily.”
Since 2003 the professionals at Carlson Chiropractic Center have worked with a hands-on approach to health care, committed to bringing each of their patients better health and a better way of life by teaching and practicing the principles of chiropractic wellness care. With a strong focus on prevention, Dr. Steven Carlson, Dr. Eric Gormanson, and Dr. Jennifer L. Wojcik are dedicated to helping their patients achieve all of their wellness objectives, assisting them in living life to the fullest!
